google analytics errors are lying to youYou know I love Google Analytics.

And I desperately want you to install it on your website if you haven’t already.

When you have Google Analytics working for your biz, every piece of your marketing puzzle is able to be the most efficient ROI machine it can possibly be for your biz. Unicorns dance, free chocolate is abundant, and rainbows come out of your keyboard.

But sometimes good data goes bad.

In fact, if it’s not properly installed, Google Analytics can just be straight-up lying to you.

Signs Your Data Might Be Lying To You:

  • Your bounce rate is lower than 20% (sorry, that’s not real)
  • You see your *own* website come up as a traffic source
  • You know people are clicking the links in your newsletter buuuuuut you don’t see them in your traffic source data
  • You can’t tell the difference between traffic from your Facebook page and traffic from a Facebook ad you paid for
  • You see the same page showing up twice in your Content reports
  • You spy fake-looking sites in your traffic sources like “free-social-buttons.com” and others

…to name just a few.

What happens when bad data happens to good people?

Bad decisions get made.

Money gets lost.

ROI decreases.

I want that Facebook ad campaign you’re spending money on to get the credit it deserves – not hidden behind some analytics error.

When you make decisions off of bad data, you’re making bad decisions for your business.

And bad business decisions can quickly beget more bad business decisions which can quickly mean no business.
